Xingzhong Liang obtained his PhD degree from the University of Leicester in 2018. He has worked at Lancaster University and the University of Leicester before joining MIDAS in 2022.
In the MIDAS program, Xingzhong will investigate the influence of irradiation damage on corrosion kinetics and oxide structure. An active autoclave will be used to perform corrosion experiments on zirconium samples with proton/neutron pre-irradiation, and meanwhile, a proton beamline at Dalton Cumbrian Facility will be used to conduct in-situ corrosion experiments.
