Introducing the MIDAS EDIA Action Plan: A Commitment to Equality, Diversity, Inclusivity, and Accessibility

At MIDAS, we believe that fostering an environment where every voice is valued is key to our success. That’s why the EDIA team has developed an Action Plan Pamphlet, inspired by feedback from our community. This plan outlines steps we’re taking to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, feels supported and empowered in their work.

Our focus includes making it easier for new members to integrate into MIDAS, strengthening collaborations across institutions, and ensuring that our meetings and events are accessible to all. We’re expanding networking opportunities and workshops to help connect researchers, industry professionals, and external academics, so we can continue to grow together.

We also recognise the importance of giving everyone the space to share their ideas and feedback. To make this easier, the EDIA team introduced an anonymous feedback tool and suggestion box for member to share freely without judgement. The plan encourages members to lead their own community initiatives, whether it’s through events, workshops, or outreach. We’re committed to making MIDAS a place where inclusion isn’t just an ideal but a reality we live by every day.

We’re excited for what’s to come as we ensure everyone’s voice is heard! To learn more about the changes ahead, read the full MIDAS EDIA Action Plan Pamphlet here. If you’re interested in contributing ideas, joining the EDIA committee, or simply staying informed, we welcome you to be part of this effort to make MIDAS an even more inclusive and supportive space.
